Feng Shui is the most comprehensive, accurate and rewarding when it begins at the design stage. The service is very detailed and usually involves consulting with architects, builders, surveyors and interior designers.
The next best time for Feng Shui is after plans have been drawn up so they can be assessed before going to council. However, if it's too late and plans are already approved, there's still plenty of opportunity to assess how the Feng Shui will affect the lives of the occupants and still suggest some practical remedies or changes.
A common mistake is placement of the meter box outside the wall of the Master Bedroom. Jodi has worked on alot of new homes and this issue has come up often.
Choice of a suitable site: The best time to do Feng Shui is when choosing a suitable building site as for a standard building block, the site will determine the house orientation.
Initial site inspection: When the site is chosen an inspection is required to assess the environment.
Discussion of the client’s plans and ideas: Best before sketch design by an architect because Jodi can take time to discuss your ideas and make her recommendations. Jodi often meets with architects for this purpose.
Jodi will prepare a report of recommendations including:
 Location and orientation of building.
Design of roads, pathways, landscaping and water placement.
Best location for front door, windows, internal doors and pathways.
Placement of rooms, particularly bedrooms and beds for good health.
Interior design, furniture placement and colour scheme. (Jodi will recommend the locations of the 5 Elements and this may be shown to your Interior Designer to create the decor).
Once plans are drafted they are checked and advice is given on any changes or alterations. If changes are required, plans may need to be re-checked after being re-drawn.
Later, a second visit to the site may be necessary to indicate the building's orientation. A good day for groundbreaking is recommended.
