What is CPD? The FENG SHUI network (FSN) is pleased to present members with a programme for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). The FSN is committed to promoting Feng Shui as a profession which contributes to the quality of life for people at home, in business and to generally improve health, wealth and environment. The purpose of CPD is to ensure members maintain a high standard of practice through continued learning, which takes a variety of forms: · attending or running conferences, seminars and workshops · writing, teaching, mentoring · professional reading · participating in meetings of various Feng Shui Associations, Societies, membership-based groups, etc. The purpose of CPD is to develop and update knowledge and skills in order to provide a high quality and ethical standard of practice to clients. The FSN encourages all members to participate in CPD. The credibility of the profession of Feng Shui and its maintenance of high standards rests on the participation of members. What is Professional Development? Professional Development is educational learning that develops your knowledge and skills in Feng Shui. By participating annually, the practitioner’s Feng Shui knowledge will be sustained and enhanced, making CPD an essential aspect of professional practice. Feng Shui professionals should undertake CPD on a continual basis to ensure their skills and knowledge are frequently deepened and updated. By participating they receive recognition for their efforts, achieving the status of Accredited Feng Shui ProfessionalTM. CPD is a commitment each member of the FSN makes to improve the status of the Feng Shui industry. Our clients have a right to quality services provided by accredited practitioners. High standards produce better outcomes for clients as well as building the reputation, earning capacity and status of the Feng Shui industry. Commencement of the CPD Programme The programme commences January 1 2008. Members meeting CPD points requirements in 2007 are eligible for Accredited Feng Shui ProfessionalTM status from January 1 2008. At the start of every year members will be asked to submit their signed CPD Form to declare they've completed the required CPD points for the preceding year. The FSN reserves the right to amend and update the CPD programme as required. The CPD Process Accredited Feng Shui ProfessionalTM members participate annually in learning activities that attract a point score. They are then responsible for: · recording their CPD points (a CPD Form is supplied) · submitting a signed CPD Form confirming they've met the annual requirements. The FSN expects members to deal ethically and responsibly with their performance and self assessment. CPD Audits The FSN will conduct random audits on participating members to ensure compliance with CPD requirements, by asking for proof of participation in the activities stated in their CPD Form. · Members may be asked to explain the relevance of any activity to their professional development. · Members should retain receipts, certificates, etc. to demonstrate they have undertaken the activities in their CPD Form. This documentation should be kept for three years. · Members unable to substantiate their CPD claims under audit will have their Accredited Feng Shui ProfessionalTM status withdrawn. In extreme cases of dishonesty memberships may be withdrawn and any payment will not be refunded. Responsibilities of the FENG SHUI network The FSN will: · establish a CPD Approval process for approving CPD eligible programmes · promote CPD activities · develop programmes for members to complete CPD requirements · approach various Feng Shui schools, universities, institutions and other private providers for inclusion in CPD · assess educational materials for eligibility. The FSN is not a regulatory body, nor does it claim to be an authority as to who is eligible, or not eligible to participate in CPD. The aim of the FSN's CPD is to encourage a high standard in the Feng Shui industry. Exemptions Members who wish to retain Accredited Feng Shui ProfessionalTM status and are prevented from complying with CPD requirements because of illness or special circumstance may apply for exemption for one year.
