Our lifestyles are dependant upon energy.  In the course of our daily lives, energy is used.  It seems obvious to say, but how often do we truly consider it?

Electricity is a necessity, the more we use the more we need it. So why not take a moment to think about ways we can generate more efficient and environmentally friendly forms of energy?

Solar Power, wind generators, these two spring to mind.

Implementing alternative energy requires us to be motivated; as we know it's much easier to simply hook into the 'grid'.

Another option was the brainchild of the GENI (Global Energy Network International) Foundation's founder, Buckminster Fuller, who embarked on a mission to link up the world's energy systems into a global grid, thus spreading the energy needs efficiently
across the globe.

The key to begin is by analysing how much and in what ways we use energy in our daily lives.  Conservation of our resources and reduction of pollution begins with every single one of us.

“In Denmark 13,000 people make their living manufacturing wind turbines...Over 5,000 wind turbines generate 7% of Denmark’s electricity, and the government wants to make 50%.”

David Suzuki

“The wind turbine industry is actually the fastest growing energy industry today.  Danish manufacturers have quadrupled their production over the past 4 years, which is a growth rate larger than that of the cellular phone industry.  It’s a growth rate which is larger than the number of servers on the internet for instance.  We are growing so rapidly, that if we continue to another 15 years like this, the entire Danish population would be working in the wind turbine industry.”

Soren Krone, Managing Director, Danish Wind Association

“Every carbon dioxide molecule that’s floating up into the atmosphere from burning fossil fuel has a dollar tag on it, a price tag.   It was somebody's fuel cost, all the CO2 we put into the air represents wasted fuel, and we don’t need to waste the fuel or the money.  Global warming is a problem we don’t need to have and its cheaper not to.”

Amory Lovins, Energy Efficiency Consultant, Rocky Mountains Institute

“People have to see houses on every block that are designed for passive solar heating or natural cooling, that have solar electric on their roofs, that have solar shingles, they got to see people driving electric cars.  We simply have to begin to bring these into everyday lives.
As we involve more and more people into renewable energy transition, it becomes a very positive, uplifting kind of activity for people to do.  Ethical jobs, interesting jobs, good things for people to do in their homes.  It's quite a gift, a combined technology and spirit into a transition for the future.”
