The concept of Bau-Biologie  started about 30 Years ago in Germany where a group of scientists and ecologist studied the effects of toxic materials and gases in modern houses and their effects on the occupant's health.

Toxic elements are from:
    * Water:    chlorine, pesticides, heavy metals and chemicals
    * Air :      pollution, Radon gas
    * Materials:     fumes from carpet, paint, etc.
    * Electro-magnetic-fields: microwaves, computers, transformers, electric lines

This new  science  teaches us the way to detect the source of toxicity and apply a remedy. The average person spends about 90% of his/ her time indoors including 8 hours of sleep.
 

If the place is contaminated by toxic chemicals or harmful electromagnetic fields, the occupants of the building will first experience a decrease of their immune-system which will then open  the door to  more severe illnesses like allergy, asthma,  chronic fatigue, cancer, etc. It concerns  all of us: even if we react in a different manner to a harmful environment.

A classic case of electromagnetic pollution.

A while ago, a 34  year-old lady complained of severe headache occurring at night. After a thorough  physical examination, I was unable to determine the causes of her pain. She was in exceptionally good health, living in harmony with her family and she had no particular stress in her professional life.
 

When she explained the strange pattern of her discomfort (no pain during the day only at night when lying in bed, and usually not during the weekend), I suspected a problem related to an electromagnetic field near her bed (this field being shut down on Saturdays and Sundays).  It was a classical symptom of electromagnetic pollution.
She was living on the 4th floor of a building with 4 other apartments on the same level. After my office hours and on my  way home, I stopped by her place to do a survey of this eventually, harmful field.  Nothing was wrong.  No magnetic record on a gaussmeter  and just 2 to 3 millivolts (of electric field) were recorded on a voltmeter, near her bed.
 

Because  her headaches were only at night, I decided to pay her a 2nd visit around 9 pm; all the measurements in her apartment were a little elevated but nothing particular for an evening with  all the lights on.  However, on the pillow level of her bed the Gaussmeter became quite crazy with the classical piercing sound of a magnetic field superior to 10 milligauss.  At this level a prolonged exposure to this field is known to be carcinogenic for the human body.

 
The 1st symptoms being  headaches and fatigue, especially in the morning upon awakening.  As her bed was against the wall of separation between two different apartments it became necessary to see what was beyond this wall.

 
The light in that apartment was on.  We decided to knock at the door and ask for permission to see the suspected room.  A young guy opened the door and agreed to show us the room that we wanted to see.

 
Here, was an old computer turned on, sitting on the top of two piles of phone
books. Its back was touching the wall exactly at the same level as the pillow of my patient’s bed. In front of the computer was a cushion where the student would sit at night to work at the computer, usually until midnight.

 
After a few questions, we learned that his computer was off during weekends, 
because he was spending all his spare time with his family in a nearby city. With my  patient, we decided to move her bed into another position, better Feng Shui-wise, with the head of her bed against a different wall.

 
The next morning, she woke up without headache and since then, she has never again experienced such symptoms.

In Feng Shui, the field of energy or Chi is invisible.
Bau-Biologie science helps the invisible to become visible by using devices like Gaussmeter or multimeter.

Old computers emit a harmful electromagnetic field much stronger than the new
computers.

Another case study
After years of good business, this wealthy couple bought a luxurious home near the ocean, as a perfect place of retirement.  The yard was lush and large with swimming pool and tennis court.  At night it was a pleasure to see all the lights of different colors, the trees, bushes and the swimming pool, which was looking like a giant block of blue crystal.

When the time came, very enthusiastically, they finally moved in their new home.  He and his wife had always been very active and healthy. They were going to fulfill their dream. Despite their best expectations, and on the first morning, they both woke up with severe headaches.

After a few days of this discomfort every morning, they asked me what I thought.  I came, ready to do a Feng Shui survey of their bed room.  I discovered (with the help of a Gaussmeter  and multimeter) a very high electromagnetic field, near their head board.  This harmful field was radiating  from the wall behind the head of the bed.  On the side of the bed, was an electric switchboard, which commanded the light of the swimming pool, the tennis court, the yard, the electric gate and a security camera monitored from the bedroom.  The electric cables were in the bedroom behind the head of the bed and this was the source of their health problems.
 

The harmful electromagnetic field was created by the high number of the electrical cables.

 
The solution was to change the flow of electricity, from behind the bed.  An electrician was hired to do the job and modify what was already in place. Now, the switch is outside of the bedroom and no more electricity is flowing behind the head of the bed.  This happy couple does not experience anymore morning headaches and is enjoying life!

Actually, it is easy to realize why the former occupants of this house died of brain cancer.
