From Song Lines to Electro-magnetic Radiation

by Ian Hobbs

Most ancient cultures whether they are nomadic tribes or civilisations understood the workings of earth energies.

The Australian Aborigine and the American Indian both had a similar understanding of earth lines. The aborigine created song lines across the landscape and uses them for communication and as a form of street directory.

The earliest records are found in ancient Indian writings that dated back 6,500 years ago. It was called Vastu Shastra and was later included into the Vedas in about the sixth century BC under the title of Sthapatya-ved.

Feng Shui originated from China about two and a half thousands years ago. A practitioner was, and still is, consulted to advise people on the positioning, shape and size of a new building or a family grave. The practice of Feng Shui is common place in many Asian countries.

Geomancy has its roots in the Temple of Solomon and was developed by the Greek mystery school teachers over 2,000 years ago. The knowledge and skills were used in the construction of the great cathedrals in Europe during the Middle Ages. It was then regarded as superstition by the church administration and it all but disappeared.

These observations were explained to ancient cultures via myths or scholarly pursuits such as sacred geometry. As with all specialist studies they have their experts who contribute much to the understanding of any particular discipline. Lao Tse and Pythagorus immediately spring to mind.

Today modern physics is explaining some of the reasons behind these observations made a thousand and more years ago.

The major impact on our 20 century civilisation has been the development of electricity and its use in generating other forms of radiation. During the eighties researchers in Russia, the UK and USA have been very busy trying to prove the links between different forms of radiation and different diseases. They have also been looking closely at 'new age' diseases such as AIDS, fragile X syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, SIDS and MS.

Thousands of research papers have been released in the UK, Europe and USA that look at the links between cancer and high voltage power lines. The incidence of contracting cancer from exposure to electricity appears to be remote, but remove the source of electricity and people seem to get less headaches, sleep better and generally feel healthier, statistics confirm this.

Researchers such as Dr Robert O Becker, Dr Ross Adey, (who studied medicine at Adelaide University) and Albert Szent-Gyorgyi have not only been studying the detrimental effects of electro-magnetic radiation but also their therapeutic effects. More and more people are becoming aware of the effect of these energies on their health and increasing research is validating early observations.

Ancient knowledge from past civilisations may seem like superstition to many people in our civilisation of logic but is this superstition just logic interpreted by different senses that most people don’t use today?

Profile on Ian Hobbs

The natural environment has fascinated Ian for all of his life.

During the 1960s when he was thirteen, Ian's uncle introduced him to the importance of shape and form as he watched his uncle design and build his home. The house was designed and built using the principles of sacred geometry and the result always felt like a very special home.

Ian started work as a draftsman and studied planning and landscape design. He later managed the Greening of Adelaide project which was an urban landscaping project in Adelaide, South Australia. He was instrumental in establishing Greening Australia in South Australia during the seventies.

During the seventies and eighties Ian often reflected on the principles that his uncle had taught him and used some of this knowledge during that part of his career. By the end of this period he had to find out more about the unseen part of the environment. In 1990 he started studying Feng Shui and earth energies more seriously. These studies lead him to establish his own consultancy business in 1993.

He also is a director of a water treatment company called Ecovortek P/L. Essentially Ecovortek units put life back into water, but practically reduce hard water scale, improve taste, increase garden growth and improve water for many commercial applications that ultimately reduce costs.

His business is called Environmental Energy, the address is PO Box 440, STIRLING SA 5152, Phone (08) 8388 5600, [International +61 8 8388 5600].    ifhobbs@picknowl.com.au
