HEALTH

by

Leah Russell

Doing research on the meaning of health and disease gave me quite an insight that has significantly altered my perception of life. Many assume that health is a word that means, well or in good condition. Health is very relative in my eyes, as it is the one thing in life that is forever changing. In one word I call it balance. Not just in the body either. It is something that involves the physical but I believe it all starts in our minds and our spirits. In the body it is something I like to refer to as well being.

Since the body is forever consuming and releasing toxins and waste, it is something that is subject to differing opinions. Health is nor good or bad, as we are continually forming new cells every single day. Old ones are dying and new ones are being created as we speak. This is all something I truly understand to be a result of the mind. How we think, determines how the cells in our physical selves are behaving. In a spiritual sense, health is something we can only truly understand completely when disease presents itself.

Disease is a gift we have been given in order to appreciate health, which I like to call well being. It is our body's way of speaking and communicating to us, and letting us know that we are not in balance. Disease is a blessing that puts things into perspective for us. It helps us to realize that life is to be treasured.

It awakens the soul and ascends the mind, helping us commune with our higher selves. Without disease we may never have the opportunity to question life or our relationships, and to ask what our purpose is and if we are fully utilizing our abilities. It is there to help us understand what we have when we are living with ease. Disease helps us appreciate life. Without it we would never realize the value of our health. When we have wellbeing, we are able to move forward in every sense (physical, mental and spiritual) with comfort. Our vibration is higher and we are able to increase and expand ourselves as a result.

Disease is when we become unbalanced. It is when we let our minds swing from one extreme to another and lose our poise. It is when we become emotional without logic or think without feeling. It is when our perceptions are lopsided. Our body's way of communicating this is with an intelligent feedback system of illness and tension that forms disease when untreated. It is our body's way of saying, we are not in balance and there is something we need to address.

Every disease has a purpose and if we do not acknowledge this then we are creating more diseased cells. We are keeping ourselves in an unbalanced state by feeding our unbalanced perceptions. Everything has a purpose. So if we fail to realize that illness is serving us in some way, then we are out of balance. Dr John Demartini, teaches this principle and since understanding it myself I have noticed a huge difference in my own vibrational energy fields. I am no longer constantly swinging from one reactive emotion to the other, thinking that something is all bad or the next thing is all good.

Like I said, my understanding of the word health is that it is about balance. Finding balance means we have to see the opposite of one extreme. If we have a totally positive view of something, it is bound to attract a lesson in love, to teach us that its opposite is equally purposeful in existence. If we have a totally negative viewpoint on something we are bound to attract a lesson in love again to show us that the opposite extreme is just as destructive. Like the beautiful mineral gold, known for its healing properties, life in truth is only ever neutral.
